Flexible host, able to accommodate my 1 day extension. New suspension makes car more drivable. Digital fuel balance readout from this car console display enables more precise knowledge of how much fuel to refill/consumed as it removes much the guesswork from just looking from the fuel gauge.
Good communications with host & his wife, flexible adjustments done regarding timing & key handling etc. Earlier 'blackout non-start' issues with the car look resolved already. Overall a pleasant drive with quite impressive 3-cylinder diesel drive refinement standard which remains superior to a 4-cylinder as far as i'm concerned !
Overall still a memorable 5-star experience this trip despite some setbacks..believed to be battery/electric related which prevented starting & locking the car with loss of clock timing. Host aware of the issue & is resolving it meanwhile. BMW (like MAN) diesels basically are very 'refined' products which hardly shake when shutting down the engine ! Great pleasant host as usual to interact with, keen on more trips on this car so long as above issues resolved.
Great host with car in fairly good conditions despite the age ! Even the key is in good condition ! NVH levels higher during idling (normal for diesel cars) but during cruising & hard acceleration is actually as quiet if not quieter than petrol cars or even full EV !! Not much revving needed due to the relatively high torque @ lower engine rpms..somewhat Scania-like buzziness at certain rpm levels. Drive refinement perception is clearly superior to typical 4-cylinder car since this is 3-cyl.
